Youth Cooperation Through EVS

The project is a bilateral EVS initiative among Poland and Armenia. The themes of project are Urban/Rural Development and Youth Policies. The objectives are to develop solidarity and to promote tolerance among young people, foster mutual understanding between youngsters in different countries, to develop the capabilities of civil society organizations. The specific priority is Active citizenship, social inclusion and solidarity of young people (according to The EU Youth Strategy 2010 - 2018). The project is implemented in Armenia, in Yerevan State University of Languages and Social Sciences. The duration of the project is 11 months. 2 volunteers from Poland are involved in it. The implemented activities include the participation of volunteers in all educational process with the innovative non-formal methods. Activities are implemented in 2 directions: first one is connected with learning process of Polish and other foreign languages. Organizing and conducting different events namely film screening, discussion clubs, meetings and other types of non-formal education promote development of communication skills, as well as public speaking and oral skills of University students. It contributed to practicing of their theoretical knowledge gained during the academic education. Second direction is connected with participation of EVS volunteers in activities of Career and Alumni Center of YSLU. Volunteers participate in organization process of different youth events in University and out of it. Also they contribute to development of networking with partner organizations, establishing new contacts for possible cooperation. The project is open to new initiative of volunteers: new ideas and creativity are always appreciated. All this activates of volunteers encourage and motivate local youth towards the new challenges. It also promotes the self development of volunteers, tolerance and intercultural learning.
