Background: With the accomplishment of the project youth café "Cap&Cino" at the YMCA Luckau we wanted to react to the following problems: - youngsters living in rual areas of East Germany are concerned by lethargy and hang out - young people more and more lose social contacts and interaction through digitalisation and the web 2.0 - there is a number of people in the region who are extreme doubtful towards foreigners and who are prejudiced Objectives: - learning and training of healthy lifestyle through sporty activities against lethargy and to hang out - Youngsters shall come in contact with others and take active part in various projects and offers. They should fetch their skills and personality. Through these activities the adolescents are fostered and encouraged to become more self-confident. They shall develop plans for their future live and become an active part of the society. - Young people get the opportunity to come in contact with volunteers from other countries and backgrounds. In this way they have to deal with other views of life and visions. The aim is to foster tolerance and to fight against discrimination to develop a peaceful Europe. profil: Alex Dudas, 20 year old femal student of tourism from Hungary, interested in German language and culture, interested in work with young people carried out activities: - Regular volleyball and floorball groups - Regular cooking classes for youth - Regular youth group - Regular open door activities in the youth cafe - Leisure activities and projects - personal project about Hungarian culture results: - 180 different youngsters took part in the open door activities in the youth cafe, - youth group with 20 young people per week - low-threshold offers and interaction - during the sport offers team spirit of the participants was strengthened and the importance of healthy and sporty lifestyle was discussed, this is also true to the cooking courses - in the youth group: open discussion about vital issues, actually the topics refugee and wars, own points of view and possibilities for help were discussed - important themes were: appreciation of democracy, coming together from different people, faire trade - through actions and discussions xenophobia were decreased
