Youth Arts in Public Environments (YAPE)
Date du début: 1 juil. 2014, Date de fin: 1 oct. 2014 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The following project is a multilateral Youth Exchange Program with the focus on non-formal learning fields in order to gain mutual acceptance. Further goals describe urbane contemporary youth culture and leisure-time culture and its presence in public area. From July 21, 2014 until July 28, 40 participants worked out selected topics in professionally guided workshops: 1. Break Dance and Street Dance, 2. Street Art, 3. Forum and Street Theater and 4. Video/ Documentation. Soziale Bildung is an established non-governmental body of adult continuing education, youth welfare and Peter Weiss Haus as location of the action functions as a central place in the field of education and culture in the region and beyond. During the program, Peter-Weiss-Haus served as the central place to retreat, to meet and to work. Equipped with a spacious, inviting and a multipurpose In- and Outdoor area, Peter-Weiss-Haus provided a perfect and resource-based infrastructure. This infrastructure is perfectly suitable for Youth Exchange Programs, as has already proven by our experience with a last years youth exchange. The results of the workshops had been presented in the context of a closing event in public space in the centre of Rostock. Not only served the public space as the venue for the closing event, but also for the presentation of individual partial results of the workshops. The project is a follow-up of last year´s Youth Exchange “Youth Culture and Media Diversity” and connected these results to set up and strengthen already existing cooperation structures on 3 levels: a) Internal resources (Team of pedagogues, interns and volunteers especially skilled and experienced in the required topics) b) )Local cooperations (Cooperations within the social environment and beyond; important also in quantitative terms) c) International (continuing cooperations with existing and future partner organizations; in accordance with the main goals of Erasmus+: collaborative growing and mutual learning.
