Your social footprint through entrepreneurship

The training course will gather 24 young leaders, youth workers or project coordinators from Poland, Macedonia, Slovenia, Spain, France, Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania to engage them in an open learning platform where social entrepreneurship reality in Poland will be discovered and learn from the positive experience of it. Firstly, we organize this project to promote value of using entrepreneurship approach for social problems, and to encourage non-governmental organization to use this model to apply on the issues they are working on. Secondly, through the training we want to realize the entrepreneurial potential of young people and to encourage them to use the potential in bringing positive impact. The training course aims to promote entrepreneurship approach for bringing social change, to make young people learn from the context of social entrepreneurship in Poland, and to equip them with competencies and tools needed for initiating social venture ideas in their communities. To achieve the above aim the training course set the following objectives: To develop participants common understanding on the concept of social entrepreneurship To strengthen participants with entrepreneurial knowledge and skills where among others an idea presentation, fund raising, and market research. To encourage participants creative thinking in developing innovative solutions for achieving social objectives To promote the model social entrepreneurship to the local community of Tomaszów Lubelski and to present social venture ideas that will address needs of the community. To inspire and to make participants learn from successful examples of social entrepreneurs, sustainable and self-sustainable social projects and initiatives To support participants ideas for social change to be developed into reasonable business models To connect young people from various European countries and to promote social responsibility, mutual respect and tolerance between them. The backbone of the training course is non-formal education methodology and the activities planned will be based on experiential learning method.The project will have a learner-centered approach to develop and change the program of the project fulfilling the participants’ needs and their objectives while at the same time the goals of the projects will be taken into account. Besides the various non-formal methods activities realized by the trainers, the training will invite guest speaker experts on the different topics related to the project and will organize study visits to approach the topic on experiential and hands-on manner combining the theory with real life examples. Through various non-formal methods participants will approach on the concept of social entrepreneurship, will gain various entrepreneurial knowledge on the aspect of fundraising and market research, tools and practices will be explored, creativity will be discovered and as a result their idea for social business will be developed into a reasonable business model. Lastly using the tools and the new knowledge gained on the training participants will work in teams as social entrepreneurs themselves in developing idea for social venture which will contribute to the local community of the project venue. We expect the project will influence and also develop individuals and organizations to use the model of social entrepreneurship to address the issues and needs in the local community. By taking part in the training participants will develop set of new competencies that they can apply at their daily practices and use them for their personal and professional growth. In the long-term perspective we believe that the social entrepreneurship business models realized by participants will have a long-lasting impact on the target group, since itself uses the approach of “teaching the people to fish” instead of “giving them the fish” and among others will have a direct positive impact on social inclusion and raising employability.
