Referring to the ongoing "Year of development aid," and now the dramatic situation of immigrants in the Mediterranean Sea we also want the volunteers to work on the problem of migration. The facility consists of primary and middle schools, high schools, where students with different levels of intellectual disability learn how to function in everyday life. The project will allow all engaged beneficiaries to understand better the problems of disabled people and to treat them in the spirit of dignity and respect towards human dignity. On the other hand, it will allow reflection on the different sides of mobility – the forced one in the form of migration, as well as the boundaries for mobility and participation that people with disabilities face. On the long run, volunteers engaged in the project will develop an attitude of tolerance, openness and understanding toward people facing social and physical problems, which will enable them to raise voice with awareness in the public debate concerning issues relevant for them.
