Young Volunteers for the Community Development

Young Volunteers for the Community Development is an EVS Project involving 3 partners, 3 group EVS activities and 12 volunteers. 2 long-term hosting activities will take place in Mankessim, Ghana and will involve in total 8 European volunteers (4 from Poland and 4 from Italy) in 2 different periods of 6 months each, between december 2012 and November 2013. The other 2 hosting activities will take place in Leszno, Poland and will involve 4 volunteers from Ghana in 2 different periods of 3 and 2 months (short-term) between January 2013 and September 2013.The themes of the project are education through sport and outdoor activities, urban/rural development and European awareness. In Poland volunteers will be involved in organising non formal education activities for local youth and children in rural areas and promotion of the European opportunities for the young people. In Ghana volunteers will be organising free time and educational activities for children and youth in clubs, schools, in an orphanage and in the street. The objectives of the project are:To support and assist the youth and children in rural or unprivileged urban areas in improving the quality of their lives through various educational activities e.g.: sports, drama, dance , ICT.To foster mutual understanding between young people in different countries through voluntary work experience abroad and collaboration in multicultural teams.To promote European education and mobility opportunities for the young people.
