We, Ideum, is a part of Arvidsjaurs municipality and we are applying for this project.The main idea to have a voluntary worker is that the person will be involved in our host activities in general.Our municipality has recently decided that in order to host persons that comes to our town in the best possible way that we can, we have to develop our hosting ability. The aim is to focus on the individual person that comes here and to try to discover his or her skills, abilities, assets and strengths. The aim is also to include all new citiziens into our society. We, Ideum, are responsible for this question and we are given the task to work and develop this issue.To be able to have that focus on a person, to discover his/her assets, it is important to have a sort of a "red thread" that runs through our work. This means that we will have this way of working with all "new" people that will come to us, even if they stay just for a few weeks or if they will stay for good. Therefore we have to think very wide in this matter and we have to link the activities that we do in our municipality for our new citiziens together in every possible way. So in this giant work we can see that it would be useful and a great value for our department to have volunteers helping us to find good ways to realize our aim.We will work with two sending organisations, Experiment e.V. Germany and EuroWerkstatt Jena e.V. Germany.The field that the volunteers will work in is;Work with youth groups;In our work we host groups of youngsters that often comes via the European program Leonardo da Vinci or through the European social fund. They come from all over Europe but mainly from the countries Italy, Portugal, England, Spain, Hungary and Germany. The groups stay here from 4 weeks up to 6 months and the two voluntary workers will work in this field. In general with this project we want to manage to give the volunteers training on European programmes and the running of non-profit organisations through practical experience. Also, with the Idéum team, the volunteers will have the opportunity of taking care by themselves of an own project in coordination with the hosting organisation. Apart from this, the volunteers have freedom to propose new and different points of view to the activities and to the organisation. This is essential and it will bring a learning process for everyone involved. This project is linked to the priority unemployment very strongly. Unemployment affects much of the socially disadvantaged individuals, especially individuals from ethnic minority immigrants, socially excluded, young graduates seeking for their first job. It is also associated to low academic backgrounds and professional. It is a form of social exclusion because employment is a major mechanism of social integration in societies. This leads to various social problems such as crime, delinquency, racial conflicts that threaten social stability.It is important to combine this form of social exclusion and consequent social outs (apathy, conformism, lack of motivation) through integration into projects that improve the quality of life of individuals personally and professionally.The unemployment rates amongst young people in Europe is very high. The same goes for the immigrants and refugees. Almost everyone that we host needs a sort of reloading period to gain strength to return to the labour market. To be able to give that strenght to them, we have to be at our best and provide a good stay for them in several ways. For the volunteers, this is an unique opportunity to learn how to work with these groups, how to help them to build up their selfasteem and self confidence and help them to discover new skills. After academic studies, nowadays it's a fact that young people have serious difficulties to find a job. For this reason, programes like EVS are most searched because they are a opportunity to develop professional competences, that can help the volunteer to be inserted easily in the labour market in the future.With this programe the volunteer will have the chance to be active in the host society (during the programe) contributing with their knowledges and being a aditional value in the same.
