Young film makers for promotion of the border region (FILMCONTEST)

Two project partners has a common goal to raising awareness on economic, social, environmental and touristical attractions and other values at border regions. Halaszi and Tomasov will organise a media contest for young filmmakers who will make short clips (approximately 2-5 minutes) about different attractions at Halaszi, Tomasov and border regions' villages, towns. One team includes up to 3 people, who can apply for the media contest. The short films will be evaluated by experienced jury. In both countries the best teams will be invited for a weekend where professional media expert will train them in the spirit of European media values and there they can learn new media tricks and practises at the same time. Best works placed will be placed on a common webpage respectively for the sake of visibility. Settlements, from which we receive short films, will get own sub-pages with specific information for tourists, investors and visitors in 4 languages. Achievements: The media is a growing issue. The media is the best way to demonstrate local values regarding economy, society, environment and tourism. By organizing a media contest the partners wanted to involve the youth and show their view on local values and attractions through the camera. The partners decided to create a film contest where participants had to make short clips about any attraction in Halászi, Tomášov and other border region settlements. The 2-5 minute short films were evaluated by a professional jury and the best 8 film maker teams were invited to a summer camp in both countries for further media education. The short films are available on the internet on a website to promote the local economic, social, environmental and tourist attractions in the border area.
