Young European (Cultural) Audience Development !

In seven european countries, seven associations, all active in the social or cultural field, have decided to contribute their experience, their network, their skills, and their resources to provide opportunities to young European creators belonging to so-called "disadvantaged" audiences. This project will use image processing as a central practice to tackle the issues of identity, democracy, and cultural diversity. The goal of this project is to encourage socially and economically marginalized young people to develop their skills, their competences, and their cultural appetite through creative workshops; and, more generally, to support the renewal of audiences for culture and the arts. Indeed, we believe their is a strong link between producing cultural content, and consuming actively cultural content produced by others.Our objective is four-fold. We seek to :1. broaden audiences for culture and the arts, by encouraging young people to play an active part in shaping European culture and to become cultural "relayers" in their own environment 2. Enable professionals from the cultural sector to develop a common frame of reference with socially disadvantaged audiences, with a thematic focus on identity, democracy, and cultural diversity, and a practical focus on image processing.3. Allow young creators from partner countries to work with their peers towards the creation of new cultural forms and contents, through bilateral exchanges, workshops, and an international festival. 4. Build a web platform to present their creations, promote the outcome of creative and professional workshops, and build a broader network of partners operating in the same field in many European countries.
