Torregrotta Municipality promoted a European youth exchange between Programme Countries titled “Young challenges against social exclusion - CASE Project”. The project was held in Torregrotta (Italy) from 13rd to 20th May 2015, 8 days and it involved 40 young people and 6 Group Leader, from Italy, Spain, Slovakia, Portugal, Hungary and Romania. The topic of the project was focused on fighting against poverty and social exclusion and marginalization, with the aim to promote Intercultural dialogue, Social Inclusion, European and active citizenship and cultural diversity. The principal objectives fostered youth participation, establishing a deep dialogue between cultural backgrounds extremely different, using performing arts as privileged language of European youth. The main aim of the youth exchange was to get to know deeply other cultures and customs as well as breaking stereotypes by experiencing the cultures of the other participants. By reaching the main aim we tried to achieve that the participants understand the mentality, habits and reactions of the other nationalities, their values, core concepts, principles, positive and negative sides of other’s society. During the activities of the exchange the participants had the opportunity to experience new culture as their own and concretely, it has been organized workshop and laboratories which will follow all the activities and several performance with the groups, in order to promote and foster intercultural exchanges. The methods used were based on non-formal: learning by thinking and by doing and through a methodology of non formal education, intercultural learning process supported by an informal learning that stimulates creativity and expressivity, and the working methodology will be highly participated. The program for the youth exchange was rich of different activities: presentations proposed by each country, international nights, Energizer, activities connected with the theme of the performance arts, moments of debate and discussion, workshops conducted with interactive method, daily evaluation in order to obtain feedback and reflections, Braimstorming, icebreaker, socialization games, Comparison and Discussion, Meeting between Group Leader, Creative Laboratory, exchanges of good practices, Initial, Intermediate and Final Evaluation, Team Building Activity, group work, creativity workshops and spaces of expression, Networking and Planning for the future. The participants have been involved in all the phases of project.
