YİYECEK İÇECEK HİZMETLERİ ALANI ÖĞRENCİLERİMİZİN PASTA VE TABAK SÜSLEME BECERİLERİNİN GELİŞTİRİLMESİ

This project includes development of food and beverage services department students’ cake and plate decorating skills in Turhal, Amasya and Tokat Technical and Vocational High Schools for Girls. On 1 January 2014, a meeting was held with the head of our institution principal to decide the topic of the project with the participation of project commission members, technical principal assistant and food and beverage services department teachers of our school. At the end of the meeting, it was decided to do a project called “Development of Cake and Plate Decorating Skills” by being taken into account our school’s socio-economic environmental factors, necessary needs for improving the students’ vocational training skills, our students’ socio-economic situations and our society’s employment conditions. The objectives of the project are to; 1. Support food and beverage services department students in the acquisition of information and skills for improving their personal development and employment. 2. Provide participants to have professional development by learning different technics about cake and plate decorating. 3. Support participants to learn a foreign language which is important for food and beverage services department. 4. Offer participants an opportunity to build networks of international contacts. 5. Support participants to learn different cultures. 6. Enhance professional development of the participants by having them learn technics of cake making and decorating belonging to different cultures. 7. Improve participants’ professional motivation by having them get vocational education in European Union member countries and intern in patisseries and restaurants there. 8. Support to the European Union Integration process of our country. This project is for 10 th and 11th grades food and beverage services department students of our school and our partners’ schools in Turkey. It includes 30 students and 6 companion teachers. The project will be performed in 3 week-change process except for the road as 3 flowings with 10 students and 2 companion teachers. Our project will be held in Italy between 20 October- 9 November 2014, in Sweden between 6 –27 April 2015 and in Germany between 4-25 May 2015. If our project is approved financially by national agency, our project designing commission will have a meeting with representatives of the project’s partner institutions in Turkey and abroad. They will make ready the project’s action plan. This action plan will include how will the students be selected for this action, how will the students’ foreign language levels be evaluated before going abroad and after coming back, how will the participants’ round trip to abroad be provided, how will the participants’ health and travel insurances, residence and food needs be organized, what will be done for the students to adapt the countries they will go, how will the students be informed about the training they will have abroad, arrangements of training plans, students’ socio-cultural activities at the weekends except for training and finally how will the project’s outcomes be disseminated. During the project, our students will join theoretical and practical lessons of host countries’ food and beverage services departments. Also, they will intern in food and beverage business enterprises contracting with host countries. At the end of this project; 1. Participants’ having information and skills thanks to the project will be useful for them in terms of their personal development and employment. 2. Participants will have a professional development. 3. Participants will learn a foreign language. 4. Participants will learn different cultures. 5. Participants will have a sense of European citizenship and identity. 6. Participants will enhance their personal development by learning cake making and decorating technics belonging to different cultures. If our project has a chance of being practiced, its long-term advantages are below: 1. People joining the courses which will be opened in the process of dissemination the project will have a job. 2. Our students will find a job in their later working life thanks to the certifications they will receive from the institutions abroad. 3. Participants’ view about European Union will change positively thanks to the impression they have in European member countries and they will affect the society in this way.
