YES! How to become Young Entrepreneurs for Social Innovation
Date du début: 1 mai 2015, Date de fin: 1 févr. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Fighting against youth unemployment is one of the top priorities in Europe. The social entrepreneurship model can attract young people and give them the opportunity to offer innovative responses to economic, social and environment challenges. At the same time, it fosters the (self)employment and improve their capacities. YES! ”How to become Young Entrepreneurs for Social Innovation” is an 8-days european youth exchange for 42 young people between 18-30 years old, coming from highly affected Countries by youth unemployment and with an interest learning and developing social entrepreneurship and digital skills. The methodology combined non-formal education, through simulations, games, practical cases, mentoring, sharing experiences; with some elements of formal education, through the acquisition of theoretical knowledge (as the concept of social entrepreneurship, business plan writing, marketing and corporate communication strategy). All this, within an informal context where young people have the leading role, as its them who establish which are their learning needs, their motivation and their expectations. YES! participants were introduced into the concepts of social entrepreneurship, its impact in the society, while they developed their social business plans. They visited some social enterprises and interacted with experienced social entrepreneurs that have acted as mentors. Furthermore, they have empowered their digital skills through practical experiences (while dealing with online tools, social networks, and marketing techniques). All of that, while sharing their experiences with other young Europeans with similar expectations and concerns. To sum up, this project aimed to contribute to the social development and empowerment of young people. Taking an active role regarding their (self)employment perspectives, the creation of start-ups, their participation in European and international projects and the networking between them and their organisations, thus enhancing their possibilities and their future perspectives.
