Our country has young population but the number of elderly people is quite high and it is estimated that in the coming years the number of elderly population will increase. It is necessary to solve the care services of elderly people and improve their quality of life in order that they can live in peace, prosperity and health. Therefore some studies for improving these problems gain importance in recent years. There are also health personnel needs that can give preventive maintenance service and apart from that the number of sick abed increase, expansion of public and private care and nursing homes there will be more and more personnel needs. Our project owner school Special Erişim Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School carry out its activities in order to train skilled personnel that can adopt the necessary with the competences of the health service and reach our country’s health sector to the competition level at the international level. Our students get theoretical training in our school but there are some problems in the application activities that are very important for the health sector and so they cannot reach the required level. Our students cannot carry out sufficient application activities. Also there isn’t any nursing and care house where our students can do their internship for self-care of elderly people and social support services. This situation causes that our students graduate without having the required conditions of health sector and also the problems limit their employment opportunities. Apart from the employment and application, there are some important factors such as; improving foreign language skills, having europeness awareness, adopting lifelong learning and improving self-confidence of our students. For these objective we established partnership with Seniorenzentrum Südwall, in Italy SAMIDAD Coop. Sociale ONLUS, EAS28 and ASP Palermo. 36 students chosen from the department of nursing will participate in the internship program for 2 weeks about the self-care and social support services for elderly people in the proper environments that our host institutions will carry out. It is aimed that the students can improve their vocational information, skills and competences. Within our project we will have in total 4 flows and there will be 9 participants and 1 accompanying in each flow. The flows will be simultaneously carried out between the dates of march 5 -19, 2017. The methodology in our project is project management, implementation and promotion. The expected results and effects of our project; integrating of our participants into the work life by increasing their vocational skills and competences, improving their foreign language skills, understanding the importance of language diversity and intercultural, Europeness awareness, having lifelong learning view, transferring innovative applications in Europe to our school, increasing the quality of education in our school and raising awareness for EU projects and National Agency. In the long-term; improving quality by establishing sustainable cooperation with the health institutions in Europe, ensuring the continuity of internationalization, strengthening the cooperation between our school and the health institutions in our district, training more skilled personnel, developing the environment of the school, reaching the targets in the strategic plan by obtaining international competences and raising awareness about the elderly people.
