COME BACK TOMORROW, FUTURE IS TOMORROW! Our school “Bolluca Turkish Textile Foundation Secondary School” is located in Arnavutköy, developing district of the province İstanbul. There are students from “Bolluca Children’s Village” in our school. These children do not have families or they are abondened by their families. The weak economic situation and the low educational level of the environment in which our school located causes attendance problem. Short-term absenteeism is observed in our Children's Village students too. 64 of the 1108 students are long term absentee. We also have short-term absentee students. Long-term absentees are 5.77% of our students. This ratio is proportional to dropout ratio of our country. This issue is not only our school’s problem but also our country’s. The right to education which is a universal right of individuals is guaranteed by law. Protect this right is the obvious duty of educators. In order to fulfill our mission we are conducting two projects related to absenteeism which are approved by the District Directorate of National Education. "More conscious parents" and "Love your job, do not leave the school" are our projects aimed to solving the problem of absenteeism. In our project, we have 10 participants. When choosing our participants, attention was paid to the fact that participants were primarily involved in projects related to school attendance problems. Therefore, knowledge about the subject and readiness of the participants are sufficient. Our participants consists of 9 different branch teachers and 1 administrative staff. We have created a team from project participants to carry out our project in the best way. This team was separated to sub-team disciplines. This sub-team disciplines are: guide issues, logistics issues, being in communication with the course, support language development, dissemination activities. We investigated countries with the most successful in preventing school dropout which is the purpose of our project. We have determined the course that best matches the goals of our projects in these countries. Our course is Skupu Primera course in Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia. We recieve a list of activities for our participants from the Skupina Primera course via e-mail. Activities in detail as follows: Course Name: Prevention of School Dropout -26 October 2015 Monday: How to set up a trusting relationship with the students? Thus, the opportunity to observe in place to solve our problem will arise. Course will be complementary to our projects. With this course participants will develop problem solving skills and increase their competencies. At the same time, our school will become a model in the district.
