The project "Improvement of the quality of education by training abroad" was directed to the students of the Secondary School No. 3 them. ks. Edmund Roszczynialskiego in Wejherowo enrolled in competitions: techniques of hospitality and catering services organization techniques. Youth held 4-week placements in hotels and guest houses of Thuringia and Hesse in central Germany. Companies in which the students held their apprenticeships are: - Göbel's Hotel Aquavita in the town of Bad Wildungen, - Göbel's Hotel Quellenhof also in Bad Wildungen, - Göbel`s Seehotel Diemelsee in Heringhausen, - Posthotel Rotenburg in Rotenburg an der Fulda, - Hotel Herzog Georg in Bad Liebenstein, - Waldhotel Berghof in Luisenthal. According to the project internships werecarried out in two periods: from 03/02/2015 to 03/02/2015 and from 31/01/2016 to 27/02/2016. Each group consisted of 10 people, 20 students altogether. The main objective of the project was to improve the quality of vocational training, increasing the attractiveness of vocational training and development in international business. Equally important was to raise the professional skills of trainees, increase their mobility, thereby enhancing their employability after graduation. Besides, improving the quality of education and institutions providing internships for students through international co-host institutions - small and medium-sized enterprises and schools; understanding and comparing standards of hospitality and catering services in Germany; overcoming language barriers in communicating in German, the rise and motivation to learn the German language; experience the culture and mentality of our Western neighbors - the destruction of stereotypes; obtain certificates confirming the acquired professional competence and language. Based on the results of the evaluation of the internship we can say that the goals have been achieved. The project participants broke the language barriers, and it made them increase their self-confidence and self-esteem. They learned to work in a team in a multicultural environment, improved their language skills, but also professional skills. They achieved greater independence and maturity. They showed the commitment, diligence and high personal culture in tehir work. They have gained high results of the assessment by the German employers, some of them have received job offers. Each participant received the Europass Mobility describing the exact career path (tasks performed, acquired skills). Besides they got the host organization certificate of traineeship, a school certificate of participation in the project, with the specified elements of the preparation for the internship (pedagogical, cultural and linguistic). The project was based on the principles of the assessment system ECVET, the assumptions of the document Education and Training ET2020 and used the European Quality Charter for Mobility and Quality Charter Placement. The project results will be used, among others, in the following international projects co-financed by the EU.
