The title of the project in Zespół Szkół Ponadgimnazjalnych nr 2 (Technical Secondary Schools ) in Brzesko is 'Improvement of language and European competences of the teachers'. The project will be organised from 1st October 2014 till 30th September 2016. Our school has over 1000 students and the teaching staff is nearly 100 people. For over 40 years we have taught in numerous different courses and vocations. Nowadays we teach secondary school students in courses such as: buliding technician, geodesists, mechanics, gastronomy, IT technicians and mechatronisc technicians. The rest of the students attend to vocational school in vocations such as: electrician, mechanic, assembly workers, building completition and finishing workers, plasterers and brick layers. Our school is the biggest school in Brzesko county and is a very important education center in the region. Therefore, we want to constantly improve ourselves, using innovational didactic methods and new technologies. We want to pay attention to foreign languages, which are undoubtedly very important nowadays. This way our students will have the opportunity to improve in many sides which will help them find a better job. The main aims of the project is to improve language and European competences of the teachers of our school. There will be 27 teachers and school workers taking part in the project altogether. They are vocational subjects teachers such as mechatronics, electrics, mechanics, gastronomy, IT, but also mathematics, general IT, geography, biology, chemistry, history, enterpreneurship, PE, Polish language, culture knowledge and vocational English and German teachers. There will be a pedagogist, a job counsellor (also psychologist) and the deputy headteacher (also culture knowledge teacher). One od the results of the project work will be preparing the teaching staff to work with technical school classes in the program including bilinguial vocational and general subjets (or parts of it). It is a pioneer activity in our and neighbouring councills. Therefore, some of the teachers will attend in specialist education concerning Content and language integrated learning, some other students will take part in courses abroad where they will watch the lessons in their or similar subjects in English schools. During the courses they will learn about different methods of work and will improve their language competences. The foreign language teachers will take part in vocational subjects, thanks to which they will improve their skills which they will use in teaching vocational subjects. They will also play the helping role- counselling teachers who will teach in bilinguial methods later on. The material result of the courses will be specialistic didactic materials for students and teachers which will be available on the school platferm of Moodle or/and the Internet. During the courses abroad, the pedagogist and job counsellor will learn about new methods and ways of working in their fields. It will allow to introduce the improvements in our school and reduce unwanted behaviours among the pupils. The counsellor will learn the European view on her job. It will improve the effectiveness of her work which is to help students cope with the difficulties of local and European job market. All the participants will share the experienced during the teaching staff meetings and subject meetings. Another result will be getting the teaching staff which, during the foreign courses, will improve language and vocational competences and will get contacts abroad. The results will be used in setting international cooperations with schools and institutions abroad and organising mobility of other teachers and students. It will also give our school new, European dimention which will contribute to better image of the school and will improve the recruitment. It is a very important aspect taking into consideration current period of demographic decline.
