1. The context of the project: Our today's and tomorrow's students will constitute Europe in the future. Our task as teachers is to help them in reaching a role of the citizens of Europe who fully participate in its cultural diversity, they are polyglots comunnicating with other citizens of Europe. Thanks to a good command of foreign languages and getting unnecessary professional qualifications they can find themselves on the difficult job market. Making a very big effort such as communicating in a foreign language is taking a mile step towards the second person. It is expressing the respect for the variety of identity and culture. It is breaking up with stereotypes and habits. Regaining self-confidence in the contacts with others which also has a key significance for building up own personality and self-confidence in conducting. 2. The aims of the project: - enriching the school offer thank to the idea of creating a bilingual form in our technical college (I.T. class) and also introducing the elements of a foreign language in other forms starting from the first forms - the vocational teachers have a very little ability in communicating in a foreign language, their preparation should include language mobilities before starting the target training in CLIL - organizing and conducting European school leaving exam which gives the opportunity for the students of our school to get international cerificates and start their studies abroad - enriching the offer of after school activities with bilingual classes - improving the skills and qualifications of the workers (vocational teachers, language teachers, the school management) - the lack of bilingual and multilingual teachers will be a big problem in international cooperation (currently international project MOVES - 6 countries) and in other projects in the future - as the most of Polish schools we struggle with the problem of low attendance during secondary school and vocational classes therefore there is need to know tools and methods to counteract these problems effectively 3. The number and profile of the participants These are 5 people (requested is 17 mobility for those teachers): - English teacher, 13 years of teaching in profession, level of school skills - certificated teacher, examiner - Polish teacher, 13 years of teaching in profession, level of school skills - certificated teacher, examiner, - Computer Science teacher, 22 years of teaching in profession, level of school skills - certificated teacher, examiner, - teacher of building subjects, 9 years of teaching in profession, level of school skills - lower certificated teacher, examiner, - the headteacher, 23 years of teaching in profession, level of school skills - certificated teacher, 4. The description of the actions: - improving the skills and qualifications of the workers in order to open a bilingual form and also enrich the educational offer of the school, - getting to know the latest European achievements in methodology of teaching foreign languages (as above) - technical trainings for English teachers who teach professional language to improve and broaden their language skills with technical vocabulary (vocational subject matter) - getting to know European methods and techniques of teaching, exchanging the experiences with teachers who teach vocational and other school subjects, modification of school teaching plans in connection with the idea of conducting European school leaving exam and getting international certificates - improving the organization of the school on the European pattern (the work of headteacher, school office and other organizational units) - using the trainings to improve the attendance of the students during the lessons and their motivation for learning and also the effectiveness of teaching 5. Adding the European dimension to the school - forming a bilingual form - enabling the former pupils of the bilingual form to pass European leaving school exam - enabling students to get international certificates both language and vocational certificates -international cooperation (multilateral) in the vocational education sphere - establishing the cooperation with other European schools 6. Methodology used in realization of the project - methodology used in the realization of the project is simple - improving the fluency of using English by all participants of the project, getting the certificates and qualifications which are necessary to form a bilingual form in our school and later to organize European leaving school exam 7. Short description of predictable results and the influence of the project and potential long-term benefits - creating a bilingual form - organizational prepartion and getting all accreditations to enable students to pass European school leaving exam - modification of teaching plans to increase the efectiveness of learing and thier motivation
