With different kinds of actions (introduction with short term voluntary or longer commitment in long term experiences), we work with youth to bring to them different ways to take on.
To continue our aim we propose, linked with our european partners (Alliance members), an Erasmus + training course “Working with youth voluntary in urban districts”. The main objective of this training is to think in a collective way about development of local actions for youth and in the same time to allow them for a first occasion to commit.
This training will be, for the participants, the place to share and mutualize tools their daily practice inside of their own organizations and improve their skills ofproject management and work with urban districts youth. Furthermore, one of the aims will be to initiate youth and workers to new practices which could be used in the promotion of social inclusion.
Specific objectives:
- Questioning pedagogical practices and the kind of projects to organize
- Sharing knowledge, social skills, tools and learnings
- Experiment different ways to practice
- Getting know the different approaches for each partners countries,
- Train the participant at the project management
- Prepare them for the idevelopment of voluntary projects in urban districts
- Create a practical guide with projects sheets and activities sheets which will be used in future projects.
The methodology of the training is based on the principle of non-formal education. The participative methods will enable participants to fully participate in the learning process thanks to ice-breakers, role play, debates, exchanges, workshops (intercultural games, theatre of the oppressed…), visit of different local organization, special cases studies, thinkthank. Learning from experience will be a fundamental pillar in the way the course will be facilitated. The course focuses on key aspects of non-formal education like the participant centred approach.
The target group will be constituted by 15 participants: youth workers, volunteers, trainers and active members of youth organization concerned by the topic of the training, carried out by 4 trainers.
The training will take place form the 1st of october to the 12th 2014, within urban district, “Les Sablons”, in Le Mans city.
The participants will live in serviced flats available by one of our partner (a social landlord Le Mans Habitat), in the neighborhood. We will cook, clean always together, following the self-managment , in the same way that we always do with all our projects. The participants will be helped by some volunteers of the organization for the cooking part.
We planned to make a practice guide which will allow participants and everyone who didn’t take part to the training to appropriate all the result of this training and use the advises and techniques described in this guide.
We will also organise an opendoor at the end of the training, inviting youth and local people, local partners, city workers of Le Mans and the Erasmus + worker of Pays de la Loire.
Each participant will get a new experience, which could be valorized in few topics trough the Youthpass.
