Women’s creativity since the Modern Movement
Date du début: 20 oct. 2014, Date de fin: 19 oct. 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

From a pan-European and interdisciplinary perspective the project considers an issue of contemporary cultural and social relevance: women’s work in the design professions of architecture (civil engineering), interior and industrial design. The project aims to reveal and promote the significant European Cultural Heritage created by women working in the design professions, which hitherto and to a significant extent has been ‘hidden from history’. The MoMoWo network brings together seven institutions that are complementary one to the other and representative of the variety of European cultures.MoMoWo project's activities are designed to raise awareness of women's work in design professions. The project activities and events encourage a common European dialogue, support the trans-national circulation of cultural and artistic works and products and promote cross-border mobility of people working in the cultural sector. The European Database (1918-2018) will systemize and support knowledge dissemination of the life and works of European women architects and designers, following a comparative, multidisciplinary approach. Disseminating knowledge of women’s creativity (from 1818 to 2018) provides a base to re-evaluate the past in all fields of design, as well as to give present and future generations of women wider professional recognition.Three Historical Workshops, a Touristic-cultural Guide , a Travelling Exhibition with outdoor Photo Exhibition and Catalogue publication, an International competition for MoMoWo graphic and merchandising, and Final Symposium with two volumes Book will achieve a European-wide cultural dialogue on women designers. MoMoWo website, with an Agenda on contemporary women architects and designers events and social-networks (Blog, Facebook and Twitter), have the potential to generate a long-lasting impact, strengthening social and economic roles of women working in all fields of design or still in training.
