PROJET
TERMINÉ
Participating in the first activity are the School of Horticulture Räpina / Estonia and our College of Further Qualification. We are linked by a long-time partnership within the framework of the LdV Programme Mobility in the first vocational training. The participating trainee gardeners and florists work in Estonian companies, take part in school life and in landscaping the school’s and student hostel’s surroundings. Furthermore, they take part in professional competitions.
The project’s targets are getting acquainted with the Estonian world of work and professional training, the ecological features of the country, improving language skills and acquiring social competences. The project can only take place in the vegetation period, from May to September. Ten trainees per year take part. Their activities include: internships, school lessons, excursions, regional and cultural studies, joint leisure activities with the Estonian trainees. The participants are chosen and prepared in cooperation with their training companies throughout Thuringia, and they will stay in Estonia for 14 days. They are to write daily reports and design presentations about their stay which are presented to the training companies and their classes, or displayed in our school buildings.
Because the trainees in our vocational classes are from all regions of Thuringia (Landesfachklassen) they will share their foreign experience with their colleagues in the training companies of the whole Free State of Thuringia, which ensures a high degree of publicity for this project.
The second activity is aimed at the students of the course of hotel management. The Ernst-Benary-School Erfurt and the European College of Business and Management London have been involved in this project for three years now. The two-week seminar is part of the international alignment of the two-year further qualification in business administration in the hospitality industry. When taking part in the PDP (Professional Development programme) of the London College they are in the second year of their further qualification at our school and they have already finished apprenticeships in various jobs of the hospitality industry.
The target of this project is the improvement of the participants’ language skills, especially in business communication, getting an inside of the British hospitality industry, and gaining theoretical knowledge about managing companies and leading people. The college offers a course certified by the German-British Chamber of Industry and Commerce which is tailor-made to suit the students’ requirements. 20 students per your take part in this programme.
Their activities include: lessons in English about the following topics: managing people, customer service, dealing with complaints, excursions to hotels and touristic highlights guided by the experienced teachers of the college.
