Date du début: 1 févr. 2010,

YMCA Netherlands is a national, non-governmental organisation working with young people with n intention to develop mind body and spirit of an individual. The project "What to do after 20 Years of Spiderweb: Youth (work) on a higher level" is focused on developing and bringing new, innovative and challenging methods of working with youth through outdoor activities - combining oudoor activities with personal development. This project creates an opportunity for young people to bring innovative ideas about the new ways that outdoor activities can be used for including youth and working with youth. With this project we enable all participants to get an update on recent, very effective and easy to implement developments in youth work which were brought to the market lately (i.e. experiential learning is one of the tools which will be used in the exchange). Additionally, participants will be challenged and would have a chance themselves to design outdoor workshops which in their opinion will enliven the market of outdoor activities. In response, as the Dutch group we will show the youth workers how to use tree-house building as an effective tool to stimilate cooperation, inclusion and bonding community feeling. This is an extreemly challenging activity which offers a vast scale of opportunities and learning points for participants. In this project we are looking for partners from different areas from Europe in order to stimulate the intercultural learning. 7 partners from Slovakia, Czech Republic, Romania, Finland, Latvia, Hungary and The Netherlands joined eventually this project. For the YMCA Netherlands these are all new partners, thus it is the reason we applied for the advanced planning visit which will take place on 30th April till 2nd of May. While the content of the exchange is already clear, logistically and technically-wise the order of the activities will be finalised during the APV. In this project we want to give the participants the opportunity to have a look at outdoor activities and methods used in their countries as well as in other countries and, most importantly, to see how it is possible to combine outdoor activities with personal development. This we want to achieve during 3 phases of our project. In the 1st phase we will ask participants to do a small research on outdoor activities and legislation to work in heights in their countries. The 2nd phase will be the exchange which will take place between 5th to 18th July 2010 in Ommen, The Netherlands. 42 young people who have at least a bit of experience with outdoor and work together with organisations which use outdoor activities in their camps and events will take part in the event and excange different outdoor activities what is new, innovative and challenging. In the 3rd phase we expect participants to go back to their countries with the experience and knowledge gained in the intercultural event, to integrate new tools and methods into their youth work - i.e. outdoor as a tool for personal development. The 3rd phase of the project is a guided period where we look at he results of the previous two phases of the exchange.
