EVS project "Welcome for internationals!" is implemented under the EU program "Erasmus+" for the period from August 1, 2015 to September 1, 2016 with activities in the period from September 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016. Project involves one volunteer - Albanian origin girl Fjorilda Kreku who lives in Italy. Project is hosted and coordinated by - Latvian Christian Student Fellowship, but sending organization is AIM - Agenzia Intercultura e Mobilità. The aim of the project is to enable the volunteer to develop her personality through the diversification of foreign students daily life in Latvia. A variety of activities and living in local community will help develop volunteer's existing talents and abilities, as well as discover new ones. The project idea came about because every year through various programs to Latvia come many different students from different countries. The number of students is relatively high, but the events and activities proposed are not as wide and either do not, or can not fully meet all students' needs and interests. As well as not enough support people who can provide the necessary support to the students and help to set the time to integrate into Latvian culture. Students feel homesick and lack of mental support. Latvian students are ready to assist them in these matters, giving their support, regardless of race, nationality, religion and so on. In cooperation with EVS volunteer, we want to give it even wider international dimension to help local students to better integrate into the European Union, but foreign students - be understood and accepted. The project will expand the volunteer's horizons and experience in various fields. During the project, the volunteer will learn to organize various events, activities, learn about non-formal education methods to work with students and other groups, develop communication skills, as well as improve the technical skills, gain knowledge about Latvian culture and people.
