Web Quest for Human Resources Management - collaborative blended learning methodology for VET.

"Knowledge Society" is undergoing tremendous changes which significantly influences business and industry field but even more education. The rapid growth of social computing and web 2.0 applications and supporting technologies (E.g. blogs, podcasts, wikis, social networking sites) has dramatically changed the way we communicate and we get the information and without no doubt has become an important driver of innovation in learning. The integration of new technologies into learning of HR competencies in companies, especially SMEs, is a necessary step to ensure the success of knowledge acquisition, both on the individual and institutional level. Therefore, new methodological approaches are needed in order to make the best use of the potential of the new technologies and through strengthening learning effectiveness increase the competitiveness of SMEs and their employees. The main objective of the project was to transfer the Methodology for Collaborative Blended Learning to the area of Human Resources Management in SMEs. The CBL Methodology deals with a blended language learning model which combines blog activities with webquest projects that take place in face-to-face lessons and online in a wiki as a language learning platform and course management system at the same time. The core element of the CBLM was webquest which perfectlly served as a framework to integrate Web 2.0 into learning process. Although it was prepared originally for the foreign language learning, the methodology was easily adopted for the needs of VET in the area of Human Resources Management in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).The partnership of the project consisted of 4 organizations representing 3 countries (Poland, Sweden and the UK). All partners had experience in projects' implementation in the field of innovative learning and adult education etc. Conducting this project partners were sharing their knowledge and validated the methodology in each country.General outcomes of the project included: transfer of innovative Collaborative Blended Learning Methodology, set of 20 webquests on HRM, pilot training program for 30 trainers and 15 employees of SMEs, content related materials, training manuals and multimedia content.
