PROJET
TERMINÉ
The project »WE ARE ONE« is an EVS project with an added activity of mobility for youth workers. The EVS project is going to take place in Zagorje ob Savi Occupational Activity Centre (VDC) and Youth Center Trbovlje (MCT). VDC is a public social welfare institution, which provides social inclusion, work and daycare to mentally and physically challenged persons. MCT is established by local municipality and covers following activities: international mobility, counceling for young people, involved in cultural local activities, cooperate with different local, regional, national and international organizations. In this project MCT is the coordinating organization and VDC is the hosting organization.Under this Project we will host two volunteers (one from Germany and one from Italy), between July 2016 - July 2017 for a period of one year. Volunteers will spend four days per week doing work in VDC and one day per week in MCT. We will also host mobility for youth workers “ Training for EVS coordinators- expansion of competences” for 7 different organizations. In VDC the EVS volunteer will be working close with the users of the center. So far the experience has shown that users of VDC enjoy spending time with volunteers because this enriches their day with the conversation, cooperation and playing different games. We want to provide diversity in the user's day and give them something more in their lives beside their daily routines. Also this being said we want also to expand the EVS opportunities in volunteering possibilities by having them work in such centers. In MCT the volunteer will help on developing a youth project started by local youngsters “Me for one day”, this project addresses the exclusion of people with special needs in our community. The project wants to bring awareness of equality that the people with special needs should have in our society. The volunteers will have the opportunity to realize how much effort a person with disabilities has to put in carrying out daily tasks that are taken for granted by people who are not disabled. With this close cooperation the volunteer will be able to transfer all hers or his experiences gained in VDC to a project »Me for a day« ( »Jaz za en dan«) which is a project based on awareness of people with disability and their inclusion in our society.Volunteers will meet different people in the VDC and in the society, because VDC cooperates with many local sports clubs and other associations to prepare a variety of events. Volunteers will work with all users (120) and employees (32). Volunteers will be involved in all cultural, sports and local activities that are carried out in the VDC (over 20). The experience of volunteering in the VDC will help volunteers to grow personally, recognizing what is truly important in life. The volunteers will bring us a new perspective in life and gave her or him an important lesson in life. Users will get self affirmation and international experience. In the long run we want to cooperate with various countries, but above all we want to connect and get links from people and organizations engaged in the same or similar work as we do.With this EVS project we would also like to share our good practice and our collaboration with other partnering countries. We feel that the experienceof working with people with disabilities gives the EVS volunteer a broader field of work experience, as well as humanitarian note to the Project. Within the EVS project we will prepare a mobility for youth workers »Training for EVS coordinators- expansion of competences«. The training will take place in Trbovlje in October 2016 and will involve seven different organizations. Trough the training we want to present out experience of involving EVS volunteers in such organizations and also find new possibilities for cooperation between different organizations. During the training, we will give special accent on working with such humanitarian organizations which strive toward keeping and improving the quality of life for their users, and the EVS volunteer will have an opportunity to give something to the society while the society will give back to her or him new life experience.Together, we aim to prepare a booklet of method on »Where can we integrated EVS volunteers in our society«. Through the whole project which is linked with many different small project we really want to accent that »WE ARE ONE« if we help one another and share our experiences for the greater good.
