Walisisch Englisches Berufspraktikum für Berufsschüler und Berufschülerinnen
Date du début: 1 juin 2014, Date de fin: 31 mai 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Participating partners are Fritz-Erler-Schule Tuttlingen in Baden-Württemberg (Germany), Guildford College (International Centre for Education) in England, ADC College in England as well as ECTARC (European Centre for Training and Regional Co-operation) in Wales. Further co-operation partners are different regional companies from the partners' areas. Background: Our trainees are in their second year of their vocational training (industrial clerk or wholesale and export clerk). In the context of our additional skills program between 30 and 40 trainees go to the UK each June/July to attend a practical training. We offer work placements to raise the autonomy of our trainees. Together with our partners in England and Wales we enable our students to individually plan and organise their environment in order to learn successfully. All partner organisations strive to help achieving the goals of our school as well as those of our companies. Objectives: The participants improve their fluency, expertise as well as their social and learning skills. Activities: Language course, intercultural preparation, cultural activities in the UK (i.e. International Eisteddfod), work placement Methodology: The project runs year round at all three locations. The participants stay for four weeks in Wales or England. Our school prepares the trainees and organises the stay. At the very end of the stay our partner organisations evaluate the stay in the UK. Following that we evaluate the overall process. Results and Impact: The improvement of the trainees' fluency in school is noticeable. They have less inhibitions to apply the target language. After the project, the capacity for teamwork, openness and dedication of the trainees are raised considerably - which is also confirmed by the companies' training managers. The participants also act as propagators or "ambassadors" for our project. In the long run this mobility will result in a positive effect on the further education of our trainees as responsible citizens of the EU.
