Technical College TEB Edukacja in Tychy, in cooperation with the partner organization called ESMOVIA from Valencia in Spain, under the European Union program ERASMUS +, comes out with an organization of internships for students enrolled in the fields of logistics technicians and IT technicians.
The project, called "In the land of flamenco TEB-students gain European qualifications”, is a response to the needs of our students and aims to improve the core competences and skills in the educated professions.
The internship will be attended by 24 students of third grade, who, together with two tutors, will go to Valencia in Spain to learn new skills and improve their chances on the labor market.
The Board of Teachers appointed a team to organize apprenticeships, which is responsible for the logistics side and ensures of the good quality of the project. The result of the team work was the opinion that students enrolled in the fields of logistics technicians and IT technicians require the most support to raise the level of key competences and skills, in particular with regard to their suitability for the job market and their contribution to society. The team described the objectives and results of the project and established contacts with potential partner companies. On the basis of positive feedback about the partner organization, their long experience, the arrangement of the details concerning internship organization and partner organization in which students would take practice, and after specifying learning outcomes, the team chose ESMOVIA partner organizations from Valencia. Together with the partner organization we established a schedule of activities and responsibilities. ESMOVIA showed great flexibility and attention to our needs.
We plan that the project will bring benefits to our students, the partner institutions, the enterprises where internship will take place, as well as society as a whole, contributing to education of competent and well-trained workers into the labor market and reduction of unemployment among young people.
Through the acquisition of new skills, language proficiency, knowledge of Spanish culture, our students will be able to more believe in their abilities, increase their self-esteem, motivate each other and the rest of the school community to learn and gain greater empowerment and entrepreneurship. In the future, our graduates will be better educated, with greater opportunities for employment and better career prospects. We are convinced that it will mean their active participation in the social life of the region, the country and even the European Union. By seeing how much staying abroad can give young people, our students will believe in your abilities, and many of them will be motivated to further education in college, post-high schools or vocational qualification courses.
This project will also bring great benefits to our school. By working with a partner organization and project organization of internships in Spain, the school will be able to boast of their students new skills which will contribute to the increase the prestige of the school within the local community. The organization of the mentioned project will build confidence in our school which will be reflected in the recruitment in subsequent years. Teaching staff and, in particular, the Director of the school and the "team for the organization of internships" will gain a new valuable experience in project management, which will help us in the future to organize another, more interesting initiatives for the development of schools, youth and teachers.
In the organization of the project, and after its completion, the school and the students will expose the importance of the project as well as spread and use the results. In all information transfers, on the website, flyers, presentations about the school, we will distribute our participation in the project and the financial support we have received.
The youth participating in the project, after returning from internship, will prepare a workshop about the culture, customs and Spanish companies, where their practice took place. Workshops will be held for the rest of school students as well as secondary school students during the Open Days of our technical college, where we also will spread and consolidate the project results.
Before departure, the participants of the internship will undergo language courses, they will also attend workshops on interpersonal communication, health and safety and first aid training. Moreover, they will get acquainted with the culture and customs of Spain. After fulfilling the criteria of ECVET, after returning to the country, the students receive a certificate of Europass Mobility, certificates of completion of courses in English, Spanish, safety and first aid, interpersonal communication workshops and workshops approximating the culture and customs of Spain.
