The Project Volunteering for Contemporary Art (VCA) is a project that seeks to invite two participants from UK to join activities of the Contemporary Art Centre (CAC) to carry out activities for six months, starting from August 4, 2015. One volunteer will join a department of organising exhibitions, another – department organising various events (film screenings, performances, artists’ talks, lectures, etc). By the project VCA opportunities to apprehend and to learn better how to initiate, organise and implement contemporary art projects. By the project different skills and faculties of the selected two volunteers will be trained, among them are management skills (working on projects’ timelines, schedules, planning tasks and other activities), communicational skills (collaborating and communicating with artists, curators, other people involved, preparing projects to present for local and international media), faculties to work with documents (assisting the CAC team preparing applications, required documents), creative potential (assisting the CAC team preparing curatorial texts, documenting exhibitions and events), social responsibility (facing issues raised by artists involved in different projects at the CAC will allow to better comprehend local and international context, which will lead to clearer self-awareness, stronger public spirit).
The project VCA will be an exceptional opportunity for two volunteers from UK to make a volunteering at the well-known internationally Contemporary Art centre in Vilnius. For the CAC it could become a great support organising and implementing international art projects, among them and the XII Baltic Triennial, which will be presented at the CAC premises September 4, 2015.
Experienced employees of the CAC , as well as of the partner organisation „The ASHA Foundation“ will work on the Project VCA. The CAC will be presented by Neringa Bumbliene and Egle Trimailovaite, who have a wide experience in their professional career and are sensitive to personal needs of other people. „The ASHA Foundation“ will be presented by Sandy Ascenso Carreira, who has a magnificent experience working with volunteers and particularly with the program EVS. If there is any need for an external help, other members of the CAC and „ASHA Foundation“ are going to help.
The Project VCA will be administrated by common sense and good moral. All the stages will be accomplished wisely and carefully. As by the project VCA seeking to foster a resettlement of young people into labour market, to stimulate international cooperation, social inclusion and solidarity by non-formal educational methods to improve capacities of young people, to enforce the bond between the youth sector and labour market, all the stages of the project will be accurately followed and analysed by the tutors from the CAC.
As by the project VCA is seeking to to foster a resettlement of young people into labour market, to stimulate international cooperation, social inclusion and solidarity by non-formal educational methods to improve capacities of young people, to enforce the bond between the youth sector and labour market, is expecting that in a long term volunteers, who will participate in the project, will successfully integrate into labour market in their home country. And the CAC will establish a long term relationship with the partners of the project “ASHA Foundation”, and potentially with other organisatons, who participates in the program EVS in abroad countries. It will help to organisations to smoothly and professionally implement their activities, at the same time giving a unique opportunity for young people to learn and to gain new faculties and capacities. That is undoubtedly a great advantage for all the parties, involved in the project VCA.
