Volunteering as way of Vocational Guidance for youngsters

The project "Volunteering as way of Vocational Guidance for youngsters" is one reflection of our organization’s experience in the work for solving youth problems about their realization in the context of Europe 2020 Strategy for education development as well as Erasmus+ Program for increasing the key competences and project participants’ skills. The implementation of the current youth exchange aims to popularize interactive working samples for Vocational Guidance of youngsters through good practices exchange in the field of volunteering, combining informal approach through direct involvement in activities related to volunteer participation.There are five European organizations, which will participate in the project, total number of participants – 50 students from high schools with experience in the volunteering.Project activities comprise: Preparatory activities in the partner countries are related to implementation of electronic communication, forming of youth teams, group leaders’ selection, creation of a blog and uploading events information on it.All partners will research the educational system’s condition and vocational guidance in the schools in the relevant countries, anyway the prevalence of volunteering among young people. They will prepare presentations for the relation – educational system - vocational guidance of the youngsters in the partner countries; the Volunteering’s Peculiarity among youth – state and fields. Activities during the actual Youth Exchange in Lovech comprise: conducting an introductory working meeting to familiarize participants; scientific-conference where the young people will present the status of guidance in their country and its relationship with the school and volunteering as a way for their vocational guidance; visits in local institutions as Fire and Emergency Safety Check, social institutions for children with disabilities and orphanages - family type. Youngsters will participate in practical trainings which will give them the opportunity to touch the social worker’s job, pedagogic’s job, fireman’s job, environmentalis’ s job and the medical worker’s job through the volunteering.Another important part of the activities compise meets-where the youngsters will introduce with the experience in deinstitutionalization of orphanages and the volunteering as a way for utilization The youth’ of youth’s spare time. The RIC’s representatives will introduce them with Erasmus+’ Priorities. They will participate in a debate for the education opening and the mobility in Europe’s role as a way for cohesion and mutual enrichment of young Europeans through the exchange of good practices in the field of vocational guidance and volunteering.The second important part of the project activities is one volunteer landing in support of the nature and local landmarks as it combines perfectly with volunteer activity and outdoors activity - by afforestation of bare land and eco paths’ restoring in Lovech region. The visit in Professional High School of Economics, Trade and Services in the city of Lovech will give participants the opportunity to meet directly with the organization of work in the field of healthy nutrition and all teams will compete by presenting its healthy menu. All prepared food will be donated to children in orphanages in the city. Project outcomes:Acquiring new knowledge about various jobs through direct participation in volunteer acts in state institutions; Best practices’ exchange about the condition of the educational system and their relationship with vocational guidance; The volunteering’s place and role as a tool for vocational guidance of the young.Improved attitudes of empathy and expression of citizenship of young people in relation to vulnerable groups; Created positive sentiment for environmental protection and improvement of access to natural sights; improved knowledge about partner countries and their culture; communicative skills and team work skills;opportunities for participation of youngsters from small settlements; youngsters with economic difficulties and overcoming their social isolation. The expected impact is traceable after ending the youth exchange. Through the given chances for volunteering in institutions, the young people will be informed for many jobs; they will be gained personal skills with citizen’s character–they will manage better extreme situations, will define own life’s purposes and priorities.As a result they will make the right vocational choose and successful starting on the labour market. The uses for the young people in a long term are accumulation of knowledge and skills for vocational guidance and giving the spare time in support of precious volunteer causes of vulnerable social groups and the nature.And this leads to enriching their social experience and knowledge knowledge in the long term as well as knowledge about the goals and ambitions in the life of their peers in the other countries.
