Venue: Erfurt, Germany Type: individual long term project The themes: “Volunteering as a substitute for long term unemployment!” will provide opportunity for one young person from Macedonia who is dealing with long term unemployment, to have activities in another EU country in the field of European Citizenship and Active Participation, where s/he can develop competences and gain experience through volunteering.The Objectives:• To promote European citizenship and youth activism• To raise awareness of voluntaryism among young people, promoting its values and the benefits• To increase mobility among long term unemployed people, so s/he can gain independence and autonomy in own decisions• To gain practical experience which will increase his/her chance in the labour market after finishing voluntary service• To empower young people leave their comfort zone and discover his/her own potential • To increase the motivation among the young people to become active in their own development • To come in contact with new ideas, develop their creativity, experience team work with people from diverse cultures, and improve his/her entrepreneurship skillsThe duration of the service: 12 months, start 01 December 2013Countries involved: Volunteer from Macedonia will be hosted in Erfurt, Germany.Numbers of volunteers: 1Implemented activities and the methods: We strongly believe in the benefits of non-formal education and this is the main area of our work. The young person will voluntarily leave his/her comfort zone and will develop competences in a new environment with guidance, mentorship and support from their host organisation. The volunteer will have the opportunity to be active, feel useful and bring value to the organisation with which he/she will volunteer. He/she will be involved with the activities supporting the organisation and help promote European values within their host community.
