Project „The voluntary as a factor inspiring the conciliation and integration” took place in Gdansk (Poland) and was addressed to young creative people from Europe who are open for meetings with the diversity of European culture, new experiences and challenges. The aim of the work of volunteers during the program was: to help organize cooperation between youth from the Western and Eastern Europe. They were committed to search for contacts, to help prepare youth exchange programs on European issues such as human rights, civil society development, the fight against discrimination, questions of European education and European awareness, taking into account aspects of life in a multicultural society and individual approach to history of European peoples and countries. Another important point was the collaboration with local organizations and young people from Gdańsk and the Tri-City. Volunteers’ work was supported by the program team. To effectively achieve the project’s goals, the volunteers had their workplace in the office and were able to benefit all necessary office materials and equipments. At the end of the project volunteers improved their knowledge in the widely understood field of european issues, cultural diversity and the certain aspects of civic society building processes. In addition, thanks to a new broader perspective views after participating in EVS, they made a big step towards the understanding of the mechanisms of social change and other processes of intercultural Europe. And finally volunteers improved their practical skills in the organization and implementation of their own projects. They left Poland with language skills and make new friends from all over the Europe.
