Chuvash Republican Youth non-governmental organization “Voluntary Center “Sodrujestvo” aims at developing solidarity and promoting tolerance between people, encouraging and supporting participation of youngsters in voluntary activities worldwide. For this reason we organize activities and campaigns for the promotion of peace, international solidarity and mutual understanding; besides workcamps and long term voluntary projects. They will host Mark Strutzenberger from Austria from October 2016 - July 2017 (1o months). The voluntary center usually hosts 2 volunteers at the same time. The volunteers will develop their program mainly in the office of the organization, with the supervision and follow up of responsible person.Objectives of the proposed EVS project:- to involve European volunteers in the promotion of international voluntarism as a practice of active citizenship, intercultural education and personal and social growth;- to spread news about the initiatives organized in Russia or Chuvashia in order to promote the exchange and the intercultural respect, and to raise interest of youngsters in actions which stimulate international solidarity;- to give to volunteers the chance of active participation in the implementation and development of a specific project, which constitutes an opportunity of individual growth;- to strengthen, throughout team work and confrontation, the mutual comprehension between youngsters of different Countries.The volunteer will have a mentor who will be helping him in the learning process. Each period of the service represents this or that learning opportunity and so the mentor will help the volunteer to identify these learning opportunities and take advantage of them. Analyzing and reflecting together with the mentor, summarizing the conclusions will make it more useful for the volunteer. Volunteer will be involved in the following activities:1. To monitor ongoing long and mid term projects and to keep relations with international partners of Chuvash Republican Youth non-governmental organization “Voluntary Center “Sodrujestvo”.2. To promote international volunteering through information.3. To support the trainings of youngsters organized by Chuvash Republican Youth non-governmental organization “Voluntary Center “Sodrujestvo”.4. To organize one or more awareness-raising events on the theme of international voluntarism as a way of education in the field of tolerance and inter-culture.Role of EVS volunteer:1. Volunteer will work with the organization staff in monitoring ongoing long and midterm projects, keeping relations with the Russian and international partners of the organization, in order to promote youngsters mobility. This will deepen their knowledge of the different way of action in various context and it will allow them to promote an exchange of good practices on the topic. Furthermore, together with the organization staff, volunteers will evaluate which new projects proposals promote and how to develop ongoing projects.2. After an adequate training structured by the organization staff, volunteers will try to improve the diffusion of informations of youngsters on the different possibility of involvement in different international exchanges, projects, workcamps as well as the events organized locally. Together with the organization staff, they will answer to the requests of information on the programs at disposal and they will follow them up, becoming a reference point for youngsters.3. Volunteers will be actively involved in the preparation of the training sessions for volunteers willing to take part in workcamps, long and midterm projects in other countries, willing to be camp leaders, etc. During these activities volunteers will meet the trainer of Chuvash Republican Youth non-governmental organization “Voluntary Center “Sodrujestvo”. Volunteers will be at the same time participants and participating to the training and this will constitute a chance of informal and non formal learning with a group dimension.4. Volunteers will organize one or more awareness-raising events on the topic of international voluntarism as a way of education of intercultural view and tolerance. There are many possibilities for action: from the organization of events together with other volunteers in the other projects organised by Chuvash Republican Youth non-governmental organization “Voluntary Center “Sodrujestvo” to small projects to be developed in schools; from the participation in national events to the implementation of program for the study part of international exchanges and workcamps organized by the international partners of and branches of SCI.These activities will give the volunteers a chance to develop their creativity and to learn how to follow up a project, from its visualization to implementation, with a constant support and evaluation from the organization staff.
