The last decades one of the most discussed issues in all developed nations is the special education of people with disabilities. In Greece, despite the fact that the Special Education functions since 30 years, have not been developed adequate supporting infrastructures and appropriate curricula that meet all of the pupils special needs. Teachers’ role in special schools has increased duties and obligations due the diversity of students needs in the classroom. Teachers take part or undertake the diagnose of their students, and very often prepare and apply their therapeutic and educational programmes, which proceed in lasting modifications of educational objectives, techniques and teaching methods in order to meet their students' needs. For these reasons, the training of teachers in Special Education must be constantly upgraded with well-designed curricula and continuous training seminars. Main objective of the project "Experiential Teaching Methods in Special Education" is the training of teachers in special education and the development of the special education sector, through the introduction of new teaching methods in the field. The programme proposes the mobility of 16 teachers from the Public Special Primary School of Rethymno in Poland, in order to attend a 6 days training seminar for experiential teaching methods in Special Education, focusing on psychotherapeutic techniques of drama therapy and psychodrama. The transnational educational seminar meets the educators’ needs, while taking into account the students’ needs through the creation of appropriate learning conditions. In this way the "Experiential Teaching Methods in Special Education" programme contributes to participants qualifications upgrading through lifelong learning and mobility. Through their participation in the program educators will upgrade their knowledge and skills in order to enrich their teaching programmes with experiential learning techniques, which in its turn is expected to contribute to teaching and personal development of students with special needs .
