Project “Business in rural areas – attractive and profitable” is meant for students from 5 vocational schools: Alanta school of technology and business, Ukmergė school of technology and business, Visaginas technology and business vocational education and training centre, Daugai school of technology and business and Joniškis agricultural school. The students will be selected from the groups of these professions: ecological farm workers, agricultural production business worker / employee, Rural Business Service worker /employee, industry marketing consultant, accountant and cashier, agro employee / worker, machinery maintenance, decorative landscaping business employee and programs alike. The students practice will be organized in business plants which are held in rural areas in Austria, Germany and Italy. Project aim is to give students the acquaintance with possibilities to establish and maintain the business in these three countries, the perspectives for agricultural business in Europe in general, possibilities to compete with their own products Europe-wide. Three different countries were selected according their development level in different areas: 1. Germany was selected to learn about the agro service business (agricultural machinery, machinery parts business, repairing service , etc.). 2. Austria was selected to learn about the agricultural business as provider of agricultural products (cop, cattle breading, horticulture, ecological farming, etc.). 3. Italy was selected to learn about the possibilities to use rural areas for country tourism, hosting, food service, culinary heritage, etc. Prospective results are: 1. 36 students and 3 accompanying persons will improve their professional and basic competences. 2. Students will prepare the presentations of topic: “Agro service business in Germany”, “Agricultural business in Austria” and “Country tourism business organization in Italy”. 3. Students will prepare 3 different business plans according the experience gained in companies abroad (CDs). These business plans will have to be adopted for business environment in Lithuanian rural areas. Business plans will be presented to schools communities. Project will develop the business skills and main competences of students from these professions: ecological farm workers, agricultural production business worker / employee, Rural Business Service worker / employee, industry marketing consultant, accountant and cashier, agro employee / worker, machinery maintenance, decorative landscaping business employee and programs alike. After visiting Europe countries which are strong in rural business development, after knowing the possibilities to have a business in Europe, students will have a better stimulus and more courage to start their own business which will help labor market in rural areas.
