Vernetzung von Kompetenzen für eine europäische Identiät unter dem Aspekt von Internationalisierung und Interkulturalität
Date du début: 1 sept. 2016, Date de fin: 31 août 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

In terms of students as well as staff, the International School of Stuttgart is a truly international school. The student body consists of 800 students from 45 countries and they are supported by 172 teachers from all over the world. Foundations of learning are tolerance, inclusion of the cultural diversity of all concerned. The school aims to inspire, challenge and actively support students to become positive participants in a changing world. We work together with other International schools in a national and international context. We are lacking, however, connections to Europe, European themes and active participation in the European community. We would like to strengthen our orientation towards Europe so we are better able to respond to our international students needs in offering activities and programmes. The project aims to generate greater understanding and knowledge amongst the participants of the mobilities, to offer opportunities for international networking and to open the path towards a European identity. Students of our school should be supported in the acquisition of knowledge, skills and understanding to further their personal development as well as improving or actively shaping their contribution towards society. Within the running time of the project, 18 mobility participants will be chosen and sent to other European countries for training or job-shadowing, to make new international contacts, acquire subject specialist knowledge, to observe other teachers working in similar settings in other countries and to compare their own working with regards to methodology, technology and applied skills. The project consists of 11 courses and 7 job-shadows. Participants are teachers, administrators and members of the school leadership team. Courses were selected according to their content with the aims being to extend the competencies of participants with regard to innovative teaching methods, trans-disciplinary teaching, internationalisation of the school and develop and strengthen the European identity at the school. The job shadow opportunities cover the same content. By taking part in the courses we expect teachers to gain new insight into teaching methods. This increases competency in their subject and with it the quality of their teaching. We further hope that participants will build on what they have gained from the course and that they will be motivated and able to pass on the new knowledge to students and other colleagues. We hope the course will give teachers an understanding that innovative approaches should be actively integrated into their lessons. Teachers themselves should be open to new developments which can improve their teaching. The aim is to develop concrete international projects as well as to build and maintain contacts within Europe. As a result we will slowly and sustainably cultivate and shape the school's European identity.
