Valorising Language Expertise
Date du début: 1 nov. 2011,

Over the last ten years, considerable effort has been invested in researching effective and efficient means of presenting individual multi-lingual competence and experience, concentrating both on identifying the most appropriate tools and to document language ability, and on raising the awareness of the tools themselves. The VALE! Accompanying Measure proposes three specific actions to exploit and enhance this rich heritage of prior investigation. First, extensive desk research will provide a critical and searchable catalogue of the state-of-the-art, highlighting particularly successful or promising systems. In particular, this research will compare the many studies across Europe that have concerned different approaches to the valorisation of language expertise (e.g. the Europass Language Passport and European Language Portfolio). In order to ensure the most recent data, the project group will seek, where possible, to contact and involve the original researchers in compiling this research catalogue. The second action will concentrate on the exploitation and further development of an iphone application initially developed as part of the elp-DESK project, transferring the innovative interface solutions from the original product to new platforms (e.g. web and mobile device operating systems), and further integrating portfolio features into the language valorisation system. The final action will involve intensive and targeted dissemination of the project deliverables and outputs through the specific involvement in the partnership of the British and Italian National Europass Centres. In particular, dissemination will involve two major events to present and demonstrate successful practice and innovative technology, as well as promotional visits to and information meetings with relevant multiplier organisations across the EU.
