VIVO + EU stems from the need, observed by the Italian Council of the European Movement, to make its background and experience in the European context available to young citizens in order to facilitate their participation in the European and Italian decision-making process.The main goal of the project, in line with the objectives of the Structured Dialogue, is to increase the level of skills of young people and consequently their actively involvement in democratic life as European citizens. Dialogue with "stakeholders" and social actors will provide young people with key tools to be protagonists in a process in which they are more and more, directly and indirectly, involved.Increasing European skills, encouraging interaction among young people, youth organizations and institutions, rethinking EU original values to give a voice to youngsters, these are the main objectives that VIVO + EU aims at achieving through training sessions and debate between Rome and Ventotene, historical landmarks of European integration.The meetings will foresee the participation of more than 200 youngsters from all over the Italian territory, selected by different channels; they all share the same desire to train in European matters and promote a renewed approach in the field of youth policies.The topics of discussion, which are particularly felt by youngsters at national and European level, such as Environment, Security, Social and Labour policies and International Cooperation, will be addressed by participants in different working groups. Each working group will be expected to present their findings to representatives of the most important institutions in the field of youth policy and provide them with food for thought to promote a renewed approach in dealing with these issues.At the end of these training days and meetings with decision-makers, participants will elaborate a final report named "EU Recommendations on youth policies" that will collect ideas and suggestions in the framework of the future Youth Strategy and in synergy with the national and European policies on the subject.The project activities will be monitored on the website of the project in which it will be promoted a platform that encourages dialogue and interaction among participants and among all those who are interested in these topics. Because we can all be leaders of our desired Europe.
