TERMINÉ
-Background of the project: The aim of VADIMO youth exchange is to provide a lived experience of diversity to youngsters from around Europe by a) living together in a fully inclusive intercultural environment and b) engaging in universally designed physical activities. This project will educate in diversity with a view to preventing and addressing social problems such as racism, homophobia and/or social exclusion of people with fewer opportunities such as people with functional diversity or neurodiversity. -Objectives of VADIMO: The main objectives of this project are to: • Recognise diversity through recreational physical activity and in everyday life activities• Share realities and understand another country's cultures. • Gain interpersonal skills and competences• Exchange experiences and knowledge about inclusive physical activities• Raise awareness about interdependence of people• Promote active lifestyles regardless level of ability-Number of participants & profile of participants: VADIMO youth exchange will gather 28 youngsters of eighteen to twenty-five years old and 7 group leaders from Programme countries (Cyprus, Romania, Italy, Slovakia, Lithuania, Bulgaria and Spain). The group of participants will be heterogeneous and will include young people with fewer opportunities (geographic obstacles economic obstacles, cultural differences, and disability), which will be very positive for the development of the proposed activities and it will significantly enrich the learning outcomes of the participants.-Description of activities: Physical activities will be designed following "universal design principles". The activities will be tailored to the participants, so that all participants will be able to participate regardless of age, ability level, gender or any other basis. The activities are divided into thematic days - for example, Creativity day, Outdoor day, Exploring day, Supertalent day, etc. Some sample activities organised for these days will be team building challanges, inclusive recreational games, orienteering, theatre, ioga... -Methodology: The working methodology will be non formal and informal educational activities. These will also be mainly characterized by a constructivist approach of "learning by doing", which focuses on the experience of participants and requires posterior reflection of all the actions undertaken by participants. -Results & Impact expected: The participants in this project will actively experience a new way of dealing with diversity, characterized by a positive approach for the whole community. This view gained by the participants can have an effect on their countries of origin. First, spreading the new approach to their friends, family and acquaintances. Eventually, participants will be able to develop projects and initiatives that use sport as a tool to enhance diversity. The participating organizations will share their expertise and at the same time, learn a new approach to diversity. This may inspire new projects and / or strategic partnerships in order to reproduce and even improve the results obtained in this project. In this way, the sustainability and impact of this project will be ensured.-Potential benefits to society: The understanding of diversity as a universal philosophy (ethos) can produce a viral effect, facilitating a better coexistence between citizens and, ultimately, creating inclusive and advanced communities. This project can lead a transformation that should culminate in communities where the word "inclusion" is redundant.
