Validation of Informal Learning in Mobility Actions
Date du début: 1 janv. 2011,

The European Quality Charter for Mobility puts major emphasis on the recognition and certification as well as on evaluation of mobility action learning outcomes.Mobility learning in the adult learning context consists (also) to a large extent of informal learning activities of the learners outside their habitual living and formal learning contexts. There is certainly a lack of validation of mobility learning outcomes, specifically in regard to the individual competences gathered in those actions. If any, the evaluation of mobility learning usually focuses on the direct, subject related learning outcomes and leaves out the validation of the rich non-formal and informal learning potential of a mobility activity.VILMA will focus on this aspect by applying an innovative evaluation system for assessing and evidencing individual competence developments of learners in informal learning environments. By 2010 the system has been developed, piloted and scientifically evaluated in more than 40 adult learning projects. It shall now be transferred and adapted in the diverse contexts of adult mobility learning activities. Thus VILMA will create a specific evaluation approach on mobility learning and contextualise it in a series of different mobility actions that can be transferred and fine-tuned by other mobility learning providers for their actions via web-based software system. The approach will be piloted in different mobility actions while assessing, evidencing and certifying individual competence developments of adult mobility learners.Training and counselling modules for mobility learning providers will be developed and delivered on the issue. The whole approach and the pilots will be internally and externally evaluated.Large scale but nevertheless focused valorisation and dissemination activities will be launched by a strategic collaboration with the adult learning networks to maintain and enlarge European Community on the validation of (informal) mobility learning.
