Validation of Informal Learning in Grundtvig Proje..
Validation of Informal Learning in Grundtvig Projects and Partnerships
Date du début: 1 déc. 2009,
In European Grundtvig actions (projects, partnerships and other mobility actions, networks) stakeholders from different countries gather under a multinational umbrella to develop new approaches, projects, products and services. Unquestionable, in contrast to collaboration on the national level activities in these transnational teams require not only stronger efforts in terms of resources (time, personnel, funds) but also (additional and profound) competences and knowledge about adult learning in partner countries, intercultural collaboration, tolerance, openness for change etc….).Vice versa participants of multilateral projects and partnerships also acquire these new competences in the European projects they are involved in.According to European policies, legislation and funding schemes multilateral collaboration is a top priority.Despite these claims the evaluation of internal learning processes of European project partners is still unknown territory although this collaborative learning bears a tremendous European potential since project actors are multipliers of the idea of European integration.European collaborative projects are informal learning spaces for the partners. The aim of the 24 months VIP-project is to assess and evidence the impact of these projects and actions in respect to specific European collaborative learning objectives using the approaches and instruments developed in the premium assessed previous projects ACT and SEALLL. Thus one of the main activities of VIP is the development of a specific reference system in regard to “learning in European collaboration settings” on the basis of a specific needs analysis of former and ongoing Grundtvig projects. In the course VIP a representative number of projects and partnerships will be evaluated on the basis of quantitative and qualitative analysis. This scientific groundwork (based on action research principles) will lead to a comprehensive survey of European collaborative learning in Grundtvig actions. On this basis an evaluation and planning approach for the cross-cutting VIP-topic will be developed using the high quality and practical approach developed by the precursor ACT to evidencing competence development in informal learning projects.VIP will focus on the creation of a specific and transferable evaluation procedure, a tailor-made reference system for the evaluation of European collaborative learning in partnerships and a web-based software solution that enables the internal and external validation of Grundtvig projects (actions) and participants in regard to competence development in European collaborations.A specific European training course and support tools for project partners will be developed for project participants to enhance quality of collaboration inside the partnerships. This course will be piloted and completed as a full-fledged European training including validation of participants. The project also aims at developing a tool for planning collaborative projects in regard to European competences. The practical experiences made and systems built in VIP will be conveyed to European and regional stakeholders on administrative and policy level to enhance the discussion about a collaborative quality in European projects. On the basis of these considerations the project team, with long term experiences in different Grundtvig actions and evaluation of formal, non-formal and informal learning activities in Europe will develop a comprehensive approach to validate informal learning of European educationalists in Grundtvig actions such as MLP, partnerships and networks and other mobility actions. VIP will develop a sustainable valorisation strategy to disseminate and exploit the findings to all relevant stakeholders on the European level. Following the strategy the transformation of the project into a network will be prepared and the findings will be presented in 2 large scale European conferences.
