Our organisation is a new applicant in the program.Urban Rural ECOnnection project react on the needs of the society regarding rural and urban connection and reflect on sortage area. We also look for solutions, opportunities to the questions between rural and urban lifestyle aspect of ecology, community, culture and heritage preservation.Ecograf Association is the coordinating and hosting organisation of Urban Rural Econnection EVS project. We would like to host six volunteers from Turkey, Spain, Romania and Italy between end of May 2016 and end of January 2017. for 8 month in regional city Pécs and disadvantaged village Szaporca. The two groups will learn from each other during the EVS project. 3-3 collegaues will work with the volunteers at each places. 1-1 EVS coordinator, 1-1 mentor, who helps during the everyday work and 1-1 mentor (outsider, not part of the everyday work) following the learning process of the volunteers.The preparation of the project is a common work with partnerorganisations and the volunteers.The aim of the project is community development, rural development, improve the contact between urban and rural area, environmental protection, ecological awareness, sustainable development, promote sustainable economy, develop healthy lifestyle, develop skills and social capital, exchange of cultural values. We are expected applicants who are interested to urban-rural paradigm, rural lifestlye, urban eco initiatives. During the EVS project the volunteers will work in different workshops, learn through non-formal educational methods and they will be able also to use this methods. They will show their cultural background and get to know the local values, cultural habits, everyday life of the local groups.Being part of the urban environment in Pécs at „A KLUB” community space the volunteers will help at creative recycling, urban gardening, community development. Community develpment, environmental protection, eco farming, discovering the traditional culture, try the rural lifestyle are in the focus during the activities at the „Cifraház” community place in rural area.During the project the volunteers will hold common workshops in the topic: urban-rural sustainable lifestyle, development, opportunities and cooperation.During the program we support technical and professional the own project ideas of the volunteers.The volunteers will write blog posts about the new experiences and learnings. They will also do photos and short videos to be able to share the project results. We will disseminate all the materials made during the EVS project.After the successfull implementation of the project we expect sustainable and valuable new relations between a small village and a regional city. The result can be a good example in national and international leve las well. The volunteers will also learn from the exchange of the values in their countries and we hope they will promote the rural-urban values exchange movement in their countries in international level as well! They will live in awareness, valuable, environmental supportive communities as European Citizens.We are expecting from the volunteers after their returning back home they could be able to life sustainable in rural and urban area as well. They can use their knowledge, experiences in cooperation with the sending organisations in their communities, and in their personal life.
