More than half of the world’s population nowadays lives in towns and cities. An urban area can provide the occupational opportunities as well as satisfy all the demands for cultural, educational activities and health care necessities. The specific environment encourages different kind of artistic forms of expression such as graffiti art, rap music, brake dance. An urban art is especially attractive for young people as it provides them with opportunities to explore their creativity outside the traditional school environment. This project will bring together young people from different countries with purpose to learn more about the urban music and to create joint musical performance.The aims of this project are:- to explore the urban music through the mutual cooperation; - to create the musical performance for the local community and to present it;- to learn more about other countries and cultures;- to popularize the Erasmus + program, its aims and values;Altogether 24 participants and 4 leaders from 4 European countries (Latvia, Poland, Slovakia and Italy) will participate in the project. This project will approach youth from 13 to 20 years, specifically, those who have some interest in music. It is planned that all organizations will involve some young people with fewer opportunities or with learning difficulties.The project will include different kind of group activities with the aim to encourage intercultural dialog and social skills as well as comprehensive understanding of the main topic. The youngsters will be provided with an opportunity to learn how to make music using computers. These trainings will supervise professionals from Dirty Deal Audio Studies and Dynamic Records Sound School.This youth exchange project will also address the environmental issues. All the participants will be encouraged to make their music instruments out of the waste materials found in the local environment. At the end of the project the youngsters will need to create a music performance for local community using their music instruments as well as newly acquired skills about the electronic music. Thus they will be able to raise public awareness of the consequences of environmental degradation and to demonstrate an excellent example of the cross-border cooperation. Important part of this project will be devoted to the publicity. Participants will be asked to share their experiences in social media and on websites of partner organizations and to give some impressions to local media representatives. It is expected that the participants will explore their creative passions and improve their knowledge about music. They will gain additional understanding of the importance of preservation of nature and will be able to learn more about other countries, cultures, their customs and food. The part of this project is also aimed at people with fewer opportunities. This project is a chance for them to have some positive impressions and to raise their self confidence. Whereas, all the partner organizations by working together will gain more experience to implement similar projects in the future at even better level. Certainly, broadening worldview trough new experiences is one of the long term benefits of this project. It is presumed that it will encourage the participants to get to know unfamiliar places as well as new people. This project can also leave some lasting impression on participants’ choice of career by encouraging them to engage and persist in arts activities or even to become converted into lifelong participants in music. We are convinced that tolerant, culturally rich and socially proficient citizens can bring a great benefit to the wellbeing of European society.
