Upgrade our skills
Date du début: 31 déc. 2014, Date de fin: 30 déc. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The aim of the project for the 2014-2016 called: "Upgrade our skills" is to raise the quality of education in our school. The initiators of the project are teachers of English who engage in various forms of international cooperation and research. Therefore, continuous improvement of linguistic skills, learning about new teaching methodology and the use of technology in the classroom of English is a prerequisite for them to continue these activities. The project will involve three English teachers who: - pursued cooperation programmes with partner schools within eTwinning (so far managed to deliver two projects), - cooperated with Oxfrord University Press, - cooperated with the Jagiellonian University within the framework of the Erasmus programme: student's practices and in carrying out research on the training needs in the field of new information technologies, used in the teaching of foreign languages. Continuous raising of language competence in the case of work in international environment or the University becomes a necessity. The project will involve one teacher of young learners (age: 6 to 8), who wants to get the qualification to teach English in grades 1-3. In total, the project will involve 4 teachers. The second goal of the project is: - to obtain knowledge of the latest methods of teaching foreign languages, - to know more about using of new technology: interactive whiteboards, blended approach, i-Tools, project work, presentations, movies, etc. Teachers want to involve elements of teaching other subjects in English (CLiL). The main goal is to obtain materials useful in further work and for diversifying language classes, as well as learning new working methods, which are based on modern technology. The cooperation with the Jagiellonian University and the eTwinning projects is forcing teachers to raise standards and preparation of lessons based on the latest and most interesting working methods, otherwise we will not be an interesting partner. Our experience shows that the knowledge and skills of teachers in this area require further improvement. Long-term goal of the proposed project is to increase the European dimension of the school through the acquisition of foreign partners and to establish contacts with other teachers in order to exchange experience, gain knowledge about the development of a European school in the further years and prepare further projects that could contribute to the development in the future.
