Une formation Européenne pour les électriciens de demain
Date du début: 1 juil. 2014, Date de fin: 30 juin 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Our Vocational school is a school of 200 students; it's located in a ZEP (priority Education Zone). The economic activity of the area has weakened over these last few years, mainly due to the decrease of the steel industry. There was a big steel factory employing 3,000 employees in the seventies and today hardly 100 employees are working there. Some catering industries (based on dairy produce and local products such as fruit) are still working. However, most of our young people have to go to bigger cities to get a job. Our project "Euro Electricians”, which began in 1995 has given to more than 160 students the opportunity to perform work experiences abroad in several countries of the European union. This year, six students who were willing to have work experience abroad have been selected in the BTEC form. They performed tasks in keeping with their curriculum with a special emphasis on safety rules, renewable energies and new technologies. As four of them were under 18, it was necessary to involve teachers to accompany them and to bring them back to France. Four teachers were involved: two in Spain and two in Portugal. They have met the new partners, followed their works, looked for new companies and filled the assessment grids related to the work experiences. As for transport, a local bus company was chosen to take the students and the teacher to and back from Portugal whereas teachers themselves have taken the other students to and back from Spain. I n both countries, accommodation have been provided through half- board hotels. Thus, this project gives the opportunity to students to be more responsible, more self -confident and, may be they will decide to be more mobile in their professional life and so, they will have more opportunities to get a job later on.
