Understanding and Critical Media Literacy

The main objective of the project is to create essential tools (e.g. lesson plans, website with ready-made worksheet and materials) and develop approaches to broaden students’ media literacy and make them be more confident and critical thinkers and acquire necessary skills in using media. As the project involves 9 partners from different European countries representing various types of organizations, it tends to cover the wide spectrum of global issues in media literacy from both teachers´ and students´ points of view towards all kinds of mass media. The great number of experienced partners, who has been working together on various projects for several years, brings the opportunity to produce larger amount of effective valuable techniques and materials suitable for transnational environment of media education to improve school educational programme using CLIL methodology. During the project 3 transnational meetings of the project teams will be held in the countries of all partners as well as 3 Educational Workshops for teachers as the short-term joint staff training events. Participants will be selected in the partners organizations in terms to the best effective representation of the project results. The selection criteria of participants will be equal and transparent. The partners organizations will ensure to involve as many different students as possible so that they are able to give the feedback to their peers at schools.The working language of the meetings will be English. Our project output will contribute not to the partners organisations, but to the wide spectrum of the stakeholders in the field of Media Literacy at European schools:1) The interactive website as the platform for Open Educational Resources in media literacy 2) The publication which contains 45 lesson plans and activities for Media Education at the secondary schools and 45 peer activities created by students provided with teachers comments.3) Newspaper Composition Studies4) PC Games principle Studies5) Opinion on Media Polls AnalysisAs the valuable form of dissemination there will be the Transnational Conference in Media Literacy held in Prague, CZ in June 2019 where the results of the project will be presented at the workshops.
