Una escuela de barrio abierta a Europa
Date du début: 1 juil. 2014, Date de fin: 30 juin 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The interest of a group of teachers from our school led us to the newborn of the Erasmus+ project “Una escuela de barrio abierta a Europa”. They thought that the way they were teaching non-linguistic subjects through English should be enhanced as far as they could reach a specific training in Clil and other new methodologies which would help them with special needs students. From that moment on we started planning the different branches our project was going to be based on: general English improvement, Clil training and a job-shadowing. Later we talked about the goals we wanted to be achieved: Make a progress as an inclusive school using different methodologies. Teacher training. Innovation. Cultural exchange. Altogether with just one target: our students, workmates and families; they all have to experience everything learnt during the mobilities. As a result of all this work, we have carried out six language teacher training (two of them specific in Clil) and five of our teachers took part of a job-shadowing in several Finnish schools. These teachers have volunteered to participate in the project in spite of some of them joined in due to some personal changes in the life of the first shortlisted teachers. All of them have shown responsibility, involvement and commitment. There is no doubt that the results achieved have been surprising. Through workshops, presentations, good manners learnt, material, group dynamics… we have made some positive changes in our day-to-day life and tasks. We have also performed some interviews, lectures and guidance to other schools. We have also tried to internationalize the school having some foreign trainees with the platform Erasmus Intern and we have visited some other schools in Majorca looking for new ideas. Everything has been a revulsive for the whole school community and for the block too. Both of them have seen how near Finland or Great Britain are. The near future comes to us more promising than we expected. We would like to apply for another Erasmus+ project next year to carry on working with special needs children and discover other ways of teaching them in other countries abroad or in Spain. We have started a “Pla de millora de centre" to innovate and improve our skills and we are going to use Etwinning platform in order to implement some shorter projects next semester. We are still working on the possibility of having some new trainees doing an intership to provide us with new ideas for teaching and management. To end this report I need to say that it is almost impossible to sum up two years of experiences which have made a deep mark on all of the school community members. Sometimes some difficulties or unexpected events may come up. However every problem can be relativized when you reach and feel the positive energy around. This adventure has not come to an end, it is just a to be continued.
