The project involves : - 16 trainees, alternating between 50% training and 50% classroom based teaching, particularly students who intend to pursue a ‘Bac Pro’, and ultimately a career in the equine industry. The placement lasts for a period of 27 days. The trips are due to be carried out in October/November 2014 in the Malopolska region of Poland, Andalusia in Spain, and the province of Leinster in Ireland. - 2 tutors co-responsible for the project within the MFR, who wish to improve their language skills (English) and acquire a greater level of autonomy in dealing with the necessary documentation, and follow up with the various project partners. Tutor training is due to take place over an 8 day period in London. - The MFR team, as a partner and project manager, - The Polish, Spanish and Irish equestrian centres, as our student’s hosts - The language training centre as a host for the staff, - Local intermediaries in each of the three countries involved. The objectives of this international internship are as follows: - For the MFR Noyant de Touraine : to invest in, and uphold the Erasmus Plus program within the institution in order to enable young people to discover - in a professional setting novel practices within the three EU states: Poland, Spain and Ireland. Since 2007, the initiative has also sent young adults in the EU, through the Trans-Europe programme (Région Centre). The board of directors of the MFR has included in its draft for 2010-2015, a drive to roll-out the project across Europe and allow a maximum number of young adults to participate in activities abroad. - For young adults : - develop professional skills and cultural awareness - develop job seeking abilities subsequent to the initial placement - develop interest and appeal in different lifestyles for our young adults, many of whom come from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds – encourage a more independent lifestyle, increase self-esteem and promote confidence in their ability to find employment through training and experience abroad, and who already possess professional skills acquired by regular internships and school-based learning in France. - For tutors : to take an interest in other economic and social backgrounds in Europe and explore novel teaching approaches, and further develop professional skills. - For French mentors : to engage in terms of educational preparation for the project, discover new forms of work placement and possibly meet with foreign mentors. Activities during the placement : - Young adults : they should focus on the development of professional skills as previously defined in the placement agreement, outlining appropriate tasks that may be undertaken by the young adults during their placement. - Tutors : focussing on professional level language skills. The project is managed over a period of 2 years : one year in the run up to and one year following the placement. The results, envisaged impacts and potential long-term benefits of the initiative on both the young adults and the staff are as follows : - Enhancement of professional experience and expertise, - Enhancement of language skills, - Increased self-confidence allowing for greater professional and individual fulfilment, - Greater professionalization among members of the MFR to develop and sustain the overall project, - Refining the MFR’s image and perception, through a European initiative, - Create a dynamic network between foreign and French professionals
