The information society is constantly setting the new challenges for the up-to-date person who seeks to be modern in the changing world. Today adult education aims at fully satisfying adult learners’ needs and expectations, that is, to not only provide general education, but also train general competences, organize the teaching-learning process in an interesting and attractive way, to make learning as an absorbing activity and to form the positive attitude to lifelong learning. Šiauliai Adult School is an institution which provides education to adults of different age categories and all social experiences, who were forced to leave their consistent education system due to the certain emerged causes. Today adult schools face the relevant problem of dropouts and low learning motivation. It is highly believed that the acquired knowledge and formed competences during the project “Let's educate untraditionally” will help to make the teachers’ work more effective in such certain ways: to organize various activities of formal and non-formal education in the untraditional environment, to put into practice untraditional teaching methods, to use the modern technologies in a more extensive way.The purpose of the project is to adopt and try practically the foreign countries good work experience, to apply the innovative work methods in the teaching process, to systematize and use the acquired knowledge practically, also share it with the colleagues with the aim to reach the optimum work results.The objectives of the project:1. To acquire knowledge and competences necessary for the modern adult teacher who seeks to effectively organize the teaching-learning process.2. To change the good work experience with the partners from the foreign countries.3. To create the portfolio of untraditional lessons and methods; to share the good work experience with Šiauliai Adult School teachers and other schools in Lithuania.The expected results of the project:The extended knowledge and competences will make learning interesting and attractive, the general competences of adult learners will be developed, the learning motivation will become stronger, the learners’ world outlook will expand, which will cause the persons who come from socially exposed environment to strengthen their self-confidence, overcome social isolation and in this way the best learning results will be achieved.
