THE USE OF BENEFICIAL AGENTS IN PRODUCTION; RELIABLE PRODUCT; HEALTHY COMMUNITY Our project was prepared for the staff of Antalya Provincial Directorate of Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock. with 4 mobility activities for 1 week in Spain in order to participants gain experience subject on “Integrated Pest Management/Biological Control in Greenhouse Vegetable and Citrus Production”. Biological control was took place for the first time in strategical plans for 2013-17 years (for 5 years) by Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock and 25 percent agricultural management activities was targeted as biological control. Integrated pest management works in our province are conducted in greenhouse vegetable and citrus areas. In 2013, integrated pest management studies in greenhouse vegetable cultivation carried out in 9 cities with 72 growers in 273 da (Kumluca 78 da, Demre 24 da, Finike 29 da) intensive greenhouse production areas. Integrated pest management works in citrus were conducted in 9 cities with 60 growers in 2.475 da (Finike 821 da, Kumluca 351 da, Demre 38 da) areas. In Antalya Provence, while biological control works are doing in approximately 8,000 da greenhouse areas (2,250 were being Antilsan Co.Ltd (Biobest), 5,686 da Koppert Co.Ltd.), this technique was used in 6,500 da citrus areas. In this Project content, 2 mobility activities for one weekly were planned to visit Valencia location intensive citrus production areas and Almeria intensive vegetable greenhouse areas which are applied integrated pest management and biological control programs in that regions. Also, 2 mobility activities for one weekly were planned to visit Ragusa province location intensive citrus production areas and Catania concentrated on intensive vegetable greenhouse areas which are applied integrated pest management and biological control programs in that regions. In the Project, 14 participants in this consortium leader of which is Antalya Provincial Directorate of Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock will do training, study visit and observation in 2014- 2015 production season in Spain hosted by Tribeka Training Lab S.L. and in Italy hosted by Sistema Turismo S.R.L. At the end of the mobility activities, EUROPASS Mobility Experience Certificate will be given to participants by the host organizations. Integrated pest management/biological control studies are being implemented in 8.000 da of 248.253 da greenhouse areas and 6.500 da of 58.299 da citrus areas in Antalya. As can be understood from the figures, share of biological control studies in greenhouse and citrus areas in total agricultural protection programs in our province are seen to be too low. It will be contribute to achive the targets of the share of biological control programs increased to 25 % of all pest control programs with this Project will be implemented in accordance with the policies of the Our Ministry. The products produced by this method will be safer than other products and it will be contributed to healty diets for our society. In addition, interest and knowledge for safe and reliable food will increase in the society with broadcast information and TV programs. Growers being equipped with new professional knowledge on greenhouse and citrus integrated / biological control in greenhouse vegetable and citrus production would results in yield increases, quality and healthy products, use of technology dissemination, low inputs and costs and the increase of the income level. Environment, human and animal health, without harming the natural resources in agriculture by maintaining traceability, sustainability and food safety to ensure that the manufacturer will be taught new methods. And so self-confident, stronger and more competitive manufacturers to new investments will be increased and will be able to create new jobs in the region. At the end of the project planned by technical and practical information to be given in the modern business, growers will receive to best practices in the EU from participants which is expected the results of projects. Also, the improve of innovative practices in the field of vocational training and passed on from one participating country to others will be done. Techniques of production of biological control agents will be learned and new knowledges will be transferred to our country. While the profits of biological control agent producing private companies operate in in the short term will increase, in the long term, they will introduce both our country and European Union international market. The strategic framework of the EU 2020 constitutes of smart, sustainable and inclusive development strategies. In this context, a thriving economy based on knowledge-innovation; research-oriented, environmentally sound and competitive economy; economically, socially and regionally balanced high employment levels are targeted.
