To learn in order to act – the international cooperation of teachers a guarantor of Copernicus students’ success” is a title of the project realized by the Nicolaus Copernicus School of Economics in Kielce. The participants of the project include 23 teachers of General Education.The project aims mainly to raise the standards of teaching as well as to improve the linguistic and communicative competence of teachers of English, German and General Education.The project aims mainly to raise the standards of teaching as well as to improve the linguistic and communicative competence of teachers of English, German and General Education.The specific objectives include:- familiarizing oneself with educational solutions in the European Union countries (Great Britain, Germany and Spain),-analysing the school curriculums from the perspective of teaching standards in different countries,-the development of teaching skills: innovative methods of teaching including motivation techniques,- using foreign language in the professional context as well as in everyday situations,- learning tolerance and acceptance of diversity,- promoting the concept of lifelong learning,- the increase of the participants’ self-esteem.As part of the project the teachers will attend language and methodology courses.The project activities: a language and cultural course, methodology courses: “English for teachers”, “Innovative methods of teaching”, a methodology course for teachers of English and German. The syllabus of methodology courses was developed in cooperation with foreign institutions that specialize in organizing mobility in the education sector. The teachers of German will attend the course organized by Goethe Institut in Berlin.The expected project outcomes, among many others, are the following: improving the teaching and linguistic competence of teachers, teachers mobility and its organization, presentations concerning British, German and Spanish educational system as well as promoting the concept of lifelong learning.The participation in the following project will create the opportunity for teachers to prove their creativity and to develop innovative methods of teaching which will make the school work even more effectively for its target groups that is the students and their parents, the teachers as well as the local environment.The implementation of this project explicitly results from the EU Development Policy developed by the school. It will enhance the school and its staff prestige, build up the school’s image of an open institution with the international dimension.
