Date du début: 1 sept. 2014, Date de fin: 31 août 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Our staff took part in the course to improve teachers' ICT skills. The ICT resources in our school, enriched by project, helped teachers with using the new technology in the classroom. However, teachers felt the need to develop and explore more in different ways in using technology in their lessons.Taking part in the course of ETI institution improved teachers' ICT skills, knowledge and use of various Web 2.0 Technology Tools and programmes (creating animated slide-shows, video clips, blogs, chat rooms, WIKIs, webquests, websites, avatars, authoring tools, programmes such as Hot Potatoes, Movie Maker, audiocity). Teachers learnt new European methods of teaching, exchanged ideas, and had the opportunity to make contacts with European schools. Our school is located in a rural area and our students did not have many opportunities to take part in after-school clubs, where they could develop their interests and skills. We also observed more confidence and relevant preparation among teachers in integrating technology in their lessons. Teachers started to use the ICT tools more effectively and appropriately. The aim of the project was to:- improve and develop the use of ICT tools in order to teach effectively in every school subject- support teachers in personal development, using their knowledge, skills and qualifications- improve the quality and innovation in school- introduce new methods of teaching- increase the quality of teaching and mobilities of teachers- increase the cooperation with European institutions- exchange ideas of good practice- support teachers and students from a small town- develop teamwork skills- help teachers reflect on their own teaching methods in relation to technology in the classroom today- help participants experience a range of interesting tools, software and programmes which are available as freeware- increase the motivation of teachers- develop intercultural competences: openness, acceptance, flexibility, tolerance- stimulate and strengthen the motivation among students- develop self-reliance, self-improvement among students- further develop participants’ own language skills- experience the cultural heritage of Malta with its bilingual linguistic environmentAll the aims were donne. We sent abroad 12 teachers to take part in the course. We included young and experienced educators, who were eager to learn new ICT skills. First step was to identify staff development needs and find an institution which could organise a course to increase qualifications, develop ICT skills, and improve foreign language competences among teachers. Next step was to choose teachers who would attend the course. In order to prepare for the mobility, participants took part in a language and cultural course. The ICT course was organised in February 2015. During the course, participants learnt how to use interesting ICT tools (animated slide-shows, video clips, blogs, chat rooms, WIKIs, webquests, websites, avatars) in their lessons. After the course we started to use new methods in the classroom, organised a training for students, teachers of other local schools and local community. We also wrote asbout our experience on the school website. We created the opportunity for students to use ICT tools in a new interesting way not only during lessons but also in after-school clubs. We evaluated the project in every activity, according to a prepared schedule. Teachers used different methods during the project such as: task-based learning, brainstorming, learning in practice. We believe that taking part in the course helped teachers with using ICT tools more effectively and successfully, gave them more confidence and knowledge in subject teaching. Our students used use the ICT tools more often in learning, doing homework and preparing different projects.
